The battle between the young
online pros and the experienced live pros rages on as Phil
Hellmuth Jr. wins his record setting eleventh
World Series of
Poker bracelet. This win thrust Hellmu th
in front of Johnny Chan and Doyle Brunson for the all time
bracelet record.
Hellmuth ran over the competition at the final table and never
put doubt in anyone's mind as to who was walking out with the
title. Hellmuth also won a bracelet last and is demonstrating
his dominating play by continuing to win tournaments even with
the enormous field sizes.
11 of Phil's 11 bracelets come in the game of
Texas Hold'em. He
has seven in no limit, three in limit, and one in pot limit. No
matter how you feel about Phil himself there is no arguing with
his results. Hellmuth won his first bracelet back in '89 when he
defeated
Johnny Chan heads up for the main event title.
Both Brunson and Chan were at the bracelet ceremony to
congratulate Phil on his accomplishment. With Phil's total world
series of poker earnings now reaching over 5.5 million and his
11th bracelet on his wrist he let us know loud and clear that
he's not going anywhere. |
